A flight attendant has urged people not to touch certain parts of a plane in a warning about the cleanliness of air travel.
Covid may feel like a thing of the past when it comes to travel, but there are still plenty of germs on an aircraft with the potential to put a dark cloud of sickness over your holiday.
Tiktok famous flight attendant Tommy Cimatro has warned travellers against touching the flush button or lever in an aeroplane toilet.
He called this part of the plane "super unsanitary" and "pretty gross", advising passengers "never" to touch it, the Daily Express reported.
Instead the seasoned cabin crew member called for passengers to grab a piece of tissue and cover their hands before flushing instead.
As if the unsanitary plane toilet isn't bad enough, Tommy told passengers to stay wary even when relaxing in their seats.
He said that a common mistake people make is falling asleep or leaning on their windows.
While it may be the obvious place to try and grab some shuteye, you don't know how many people have done this before you.
There's even a chance a small child - or adult - has wiped their dirty hands all over it, or drooled all over the wall while away in the land of nod.
Leaning back is probably a better option for those looking for a more sanitary, less germ-filled sleep experience.
For the same reason, Tommy told passengers to stick to trousers when flying due to concerns over dirty seats.
He warned flyers against wearing shorts because, like the windows, "you never know how clean it's going to be".
Tom suggested that your skin should have minimal contact with your aeroplane seat, although that may be easier said than done on a warm flight.
The flight attendant's final two tips were about how to have the most comfortable flying experience possible.
He reminds flyers to drink their water, getting at least 16ounces (around 470ml) per flight, because the dry air in cabins puts passengers at a higher risk of dehydration.
Finally, holidaymakers jetting abroad should make themselves familiar with the flight attendants because they are there to help.
"Don't be afraid to let them know if you're feeling sick," he said.
TikTok users were pretty appalled to discover just how unhygienic planes could potentially be.
"Don't breathe the air, it's recycled," one user joked.
"Don't they sanitise after every flight?" another asked of the flight attendant.
Tommy thankfully confirmed that the ground crew try their best to keep it clean - "this is just in case it gets missed".
