First Dates star Merlin Griffiths has revealed he’s got the “all clear for now” as he updated his social media followers on his progress following his bowel cancer diagnosis.
Griffiths, who has starred on the dating show for over 10 years, was diagnosed with stage three bowel cancer in 2021 and documented his battle on social media to bring awareness to the disease.
The Channel 4 star previously revealed in April that after undergoing 18 months of intensive treatments and surgeries he was overcoming his diagnosis.
In his latest update on Wednesday, Griffiths posted on Instagram with a "final Year 1" scan.
The barman shared an email about his results, which read: “Hi Merlin, hope you are well. Your CT scan has just come through. All looks good, there are no signs of reoccurrence. Hope this is reassuring.”
Captioning the image, he penned: “Final Year 1 scan results are in, and it’s ALL CLEAR for now. Nice. Thank you # NHS #bowelcancerawareness.”
After sharing the good news, fans of the reality TV show shared their congratulations on the happy update.
TV chef James Martin wrote: “Brilliant news fella just brilliant see you at the house and stay for a glass or 4” to which Griffiths replied: “Thank you James. You've been a big part of my positivity the last few years mate.”
While his First Dates co-star Cici Coleman shared several praying hand emojis in celebration of the news.
“Amazing news! I had my 2 year scan results at the weekend! Like you, all clear! Always such a relief! #scanxiety is real!” one of his follower commented.
A fourth notably added: “Well done merlin amazing news keep well and enjoy the new found health x”.
In 2021, following his surgery to remove a tumour, Griffiths thanked the NHS for “literally saving my life”.
At the time, he posted a smiling selfie about his “robotic surgery” and penned: “And breathe. 6 days, start to finish.
“Now for real #cancer recovery. I’ve had open laparotomies before and the recovery was 6 weeks in hospital before robotic surgery!! Amazing.”
