Conservative news anchor Maria Bartiromo made her first public appearance since her firing from Fox by attending First Lady Melania Trump ’s IMPERIA summit at the New York Stock Exchange in Manhattan.
The invite-only event marked the launch of IMPERIA, a new initiative spearheaded by Melania Trump aimed at bringing together female business executives to network and influence policy.
Bartiromo was abruptly terminated by Fox on September 3 after more than 12 years at the company, leaving her multiple shows on Fox News and Fox Business without an opportunity to deliver an on-air farewell.
Media reports suggest Bartiromo was ousted for violating her contract by allegedly leaking an internal Fox directive regarding Donald Trump's election claims to the White House, an assertion her lawyer strongly disputed.
Prior to her tenure at Fox Business, where she became a loyal supporter of Donald Trump, Bartiromo built a prominent reporting career at CNBC, notably becoming the first journalist to report live from the New York Stock Exchange floor.
