Finn Harps have suffered a serious blow after Dave Webster was ruled out for the season.
The key defender suffered a bad knee injury in the recent 2-2 draw away to Bohemians at Dalymount Park.
Webster, 32, was forced off in the 28th minute and Harps have today confirmed that he will miss the rest of the year.
“ Finn Harps can confirm that captain David Webster will miss the remainder of the 2022 season after suffering a serious knee ligament injury against Bohemians.”
And the club statement added: “Everyone at the club wishes Webby the very best with his recovery.”
Webster was a regular in the side before the injury on April 15, missing just one game at home to Drogheda United.
But his absence for the rest of this campaign is a significant blow to Harps’ survival chances.
Ollie Horgan’s men - who host Shelbourne on Friday - are three points off bottom spot in the Premier Division.
