Financial pain, not peaking prices driving fuel theft

Cost of living pressures are driving more people to speed away without paying at the bowser than sky-high petrol prices, a study has revealed.

The NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics has released a report which found higher living costs and decreased wages had a stronger link to rates of petrol theft than fluctuating prices.
