The Mason County Coroner identified the deceased as Charles Ferree, 72, and Deolia Blandford, 49, both residents of Washington. The trooper, whose identity remains undisclosed, was traveling on U.S. 101 with emergency lights and sirens activated when the collision occurred at an intersection, according to Deputy Matt Colbenson, spokesperson for the Mason County Sheriff's Office.
Washington State Patrol issued a brief statement following the crash but refrained from providing further comments due to their involvement in the ongoing investigation.
