The New York Giants (0-1) will try to re-right their listing ship with a win this Sunday in the desert against the Arizona Cardinals (0-1).
From a fantasy standpoint, there’s not a lot of meat on the bone to pick from but here are three angles you might consider in this matchup between two sagging franchises.
Cardinals defense
Why not? The Giants’ offensive line is a mess right now. Last week against Dallas, Daniel Jones was six times and hit a total of 12.
The Giants also surrendered a pick-6 and had a field goal blocked and returned for a touchdown.
The Cardinals’ defense — now run by former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon — had a solid debut last week in Washington, racking up 19 fantasy points with six sacks and a defensive touchdown.
James Conner
James Conner had 62 yards on 14 carries in Week 1 and added five receptions. He’ll challenge the Giants’ front seven with his toughness and versatility. With Joshua Dobbs not being asked too much of, the Cards will try to get the balling Conner’s hands often.
I wouldn’t recommend playing Conner in DFS tournaments but for single-game contests and year-long leagues, he’s worth a look.
Saquon Barkley
Saquon Barkley is ‘must-play’ in all formats. Last week, against Dallas he started off with a bang before the game went off the rails for the Giants.
The Giants were shut out in Week 1 and their offensive line is struggling in pass protection, so they might take a conservative approach this week.
That means running the ball and throwing short passes. Barkley is the Giants’ No. 1 option in both areas.
