A popular Midlothian eatery has been named within the top ten per cent of restaurants in the world.
Itihaas, based in Dalkeith, received a Traveller's Choice Award from global travel guidance platform TripAdvisor that named them within the prestigious category among some of the finest establishments worldwide.
The restaurant offers Bangladeshi dishes as well as Indian tapas and a takeaway option, although does provide a 'white-tablecloth' modern dining experience, with the venue and its sister restaurant Radhuni, in Loanhead, previously named as the Best Restaurant in Midlothian in the 2022 Asian Restaurant Awards.

Matin Khan, Director of Itihaas, said: "Our customers can share our pride in this latest accolade." His son and Operations Director Habibur Khan, who also runs Radhuni, commented: "This distinction, based on the views of our customers, is further proof that we are providing consistently world class service and food quality."
TripAdvisor's Chief Commercial Officer, Kanika Soni, added: "The global pandemic has means the past year has been challenging for all restaurants. Itihaas stood out by consistently delivering a positive experiences to diners."

Itihaas is no stranger to winning prestigious industry awards. The restaurant has been recognised at one of the top ten Indian restaurants in the UK by TripAdvisor in five different years since they were founded. They have also shared success in both the Scottish Curry Awards and the Asian Curry Awards in recent years.
