Family of mother and daughter ‘shocked and speechless’ after West Mersea deaths

The family of a teenage girl and her mother who died trying to save a seven-year-old family member who “got into trouble” as the tide came in on West Mersea beach have said they are “speechless and “shocked”.

Samiha Rahman, 15, and her mother Shally Rahman, 41, were reportedly “not very good swimmers” and were just on a “day out” at the beach.
