The Atlanta Falcons continue to surprise each week. After losing to a one-win Carolina Panthers team last Sunday, the Falcons bounced back with a dominant win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16.
The offense excelled under quarterback Taylor Heinicke, the defense came up with six sacks, and Bijan Robinson racked up 122 all-purpose yards. Sunday’s win was a complete team effort, with all three phases executing for all four quarters.
Falcons fans on Twitter had mixed reactions to Sunday’s 29-10 win over the Colts.
this is literally the story every single season. mid most of the season. win the last few games. lose a solid draft spot. retain the atrocious coaching staff. rinse. repeat. it’s the falcons way.

Staying in the Playoff hunt for no reason, Arthur Smith keeps his job, and our draft pick gets lower pic.twitter.com/urPaMWwHT3

I love it when the Falcons remember Kyle Pitts can play, & Bijan is on the team. Wish they did it more.

Only the Falcons could lose to the worst team in the league and then definitively beat a team tied for first place in a good AFC South division
— Allen Strk (@allenstrk) December 24, 2023
Falcons scored the most points they have all season with 29, they’re second highest was 28 against the Vikings. Both games with Heinicke as QB1

Bijan Robinson
Matthew Bergeron
Clark Phillips III
Zach Harrison
Demarco HellamsObviously you want more wins, but this has been a very solid draft class from Terry Fontenot.

So how do we feel about Arthur Smith saving his job today?
— kenny g. (@Gritz_Blitz) December 24, 2023
Sure seems like the qb was an issue too

I’m convinced Ridder was sacrificed for the better good of the team 😩😂 this is the best they’ve looked all year

Ebiketie's 6.5 sacks are the most by a Falcon in a single season since Beasley had 8 back in 2019 https://t.co/45RPWc4f0j

Nothing like missing the playoffs at 8-9 and picking 13th in the draft, right where every NFL franchise wants to be

Jessie Bates is first team All-Pro. Argue with Santa Claus. pic.twitter.com/SvzXSkaXys

If it was an actual quarterback competition in the offseason, no way in hell Ridder would've beat out Heinicke.
— K (@projectjax) December 24, 2023
Bates the best safety that I’ve ever seen on the Falcons

This game doesn’t move the needle for me when it comes to Arthur Smith. For me, he’d have to close the season on a 3 game winning streak scoring at least 27 a game.

-Commanders
-Vikings
-Cardinals
-Bucs
-PanthersAll 1 score losses that the Falcons absolutely should have won. This team would be in the race for the 1 seed. Crazy what ego and an inability to adjust. The Falcons sit at 7-8 and in 2nd in the NFC South.

terry bradshaw cooked arthur smith.
notice the number of losses in front of the number of seasons…
we can never escape it… pic.twitter.com/fIByORpBmE

Falcons DE Calais Campbell just sacked Gardner Minshew.
Calais Campbell, due to incentives, just made $500,000 with that sack — now at 5.5 on the season.
