Facundo Pellistri names the four Manchester United players he is learning from

Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has named Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, David de Gea and Lisandro Martinez as the players who are helping him develop at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old moved to United in 2020 from Penarol but struggled to make an impact in the first team. Loan spells at Alaves resulted in mixed performances before Erik ten Hag opted to integrate Pellistri into his squad for the 2022/23 season.

Pellistri would be called up to Uruguay's World Cup squad despite not featuring for United up to that point but this was soon to change. In November, the winger made his debut in the Carabao Cup victory over Charlton Athletic.

His Premier League debut would come a month later in the 2-2 draw with Leeds United and a further three appearances were to follow in the top flight. When asked by the club's official website about finding his way in the Reds' squad, Pellistri named the four players who are helping him.

"We have a very nice group," he explained. "All of them help us in different ways.

"And, of course, I am more with the guys who speak Spanish because of the language. And yes, they help me a lot: Bruno, Casemiro, De Gea and Licha also.

"And I am also with Garna [Alejandro Garnacho] and we learn together from all the experienced players. And as I told you, the group is a very good group and I think that's also a reason for all the things we achieve this season."

Pellistri's friendship with Garnacho has been spotted by fans with them noticing the duo arriving at matches together. On the Argentine teenager, the Uruguayan added: "We are all the time together and we spend this season together.

"Of course we learn from each other and we enjoy being together and being in this club."
