Fabinho has sent a welcome message to new Liverpool signing Arthur Melo following his deadline day arrival at Anfield from Juventus.
The Reds made their move in the early hours of transfer deadline day after discovering captain Jordan Henderson had suffered a hamstring problem in the 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday evening. Arthur’s arrival was confirmed a couple of hours before yesterday's 11pm deadline.
Arthur made 31 appearances for the Serie A side last season – starting 16 of those games - but has not played for them during the present campaign. He joined the Italian club from Barcelona in 2020, having won the La Liga title with the Spanish club in the 2018-19 season.

And welcoming his new team-mate to Anfield, Fabinho wrote on Instagram: ““Welcome back brother.”
The midfielder will wear the No29 this season, which has been available since Dominic Solanke left the club to join Bournemouth. And speaking on his move to Anfield, he said: “I’m really, really happy to be here wearing this great shirt with this famous badge that represents so much in world football, it’s a dream.
“We talked a lot, and our ideas and visions were a good fit so I’m sure it was the right choice. I’m really happy and highly motivated to continue living my dream on the pitch and giving my all in a Liverpool shirt.”
