Max Verstappen took a bite out of Charles Leclerc’s lead in the Formula One Drivers’ Championship after the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
A nightmare race for Ferrari saw Carlos Sainz crash out early on before Leclerc fell back from second to third, having allowed Sergio Perez to jump him off the start.
The Monegasque racer then spun out in the final part of the race, ending up sixth having also finished behind Verstappen in Saturday’s sprint.
It proved a great weekend for Lando Norris, who finished on the podium ahead of George Russell and Valtteri Bottas, the Mercedes driver having bounced back well from a bad start to the weekend.
