Ezra Miller has been arrested in Hawaii for the second time in weeks after allegedly throwing a chair which hit a woman in the forehead.

The 29-year-old actor, who plays The Flash in DC Universe movies, was detained on suspicion of assault after an incident which is said to have left a 26-year-old woman with a cut.

Officers at the Hawaii Police Department said an irate Miller had thrown the chair after being asked to leave a get-together at a private resience in Pahoa, on Big Island.

Police turned up to the home shortly after 1am local time on Tuesday.

They said the woman suffered a half-inch cut to her forehead but refused treatment. Miller, who uses they/them pronouns, was detained at 1.30am during a traffic stop and later released pending further investigation.

About 12 hours later, Miller appeared via Zoom for a court hearing after the actor was arrested last month at a karaoke bar on Hawaii.

The actor pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $500 (£384) fine and stay away from Margarita Village in Hilo.

Miller was also charged with harassment after police said the actor grabbed a mic from a singing woman and lunged at a man playing darts.

The star was allegedly angered by the woman’s rendition of the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper ballad Shallow from the film A Star Is Born.

The couple requested a temporary restraining order against Miller but later dropped their request.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped the harassment charge, along with an unrelated traffic charge.
