Ex-Livingston star is Hamilton Accies' fourth January signing

Hamilton Accies have signed right-back Steve Lawson on a free transfer, following his release from Premiership side Livingston.

The 27-year-old goes into Saturday's squad for the Championship match against Ayr United.

Togo international Lawson had been at Livingston for three years but left in May, and is Accies' fourth January signing, following defender Dan O'Reilly, winger Ellis Brown and forward Kai Kennedy.

Head coach Stuart Taylor told the club's website: "I am very pleased to welcome Steve to our football club. He is very athletic and shows great quality on the ball.

"He comes to the club with international experience as well as experience in Scottish football which can only be a good thing.

"I would like to thank our board of directors for their fantastic efforts in bringing Steve to the club. We have been working extremely hard over the last couple of days and I think they deserve credit for this addition."
