Everything we know about musicians separating from manager Scooter Braun (including Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber rumors)

There could be a significant shake-up in the music industry following reports that multiple artists have parted ways with manager Scooter Braun and his SB Projects management firm.

Along with representing many of the industry’s top recording artists, Braun is best known for a public, years-long battle with Taylor Swift after purchasing her old record label, Big Machine Records, and selling her master recordings to a private equity firm. In an attempt to reclaim her music, Swift has been re-recording her albums since 2020.

Here is everyone that has parted ways — or is rumored to have — with Braun since May 2023.

The Colombian singer signed with Braun in 2019 but parted ways back in May of 2023 to join Jay-Z’s Roc Nation instead.

Lovato is another that joined Braun’s management firm in 2019. They released two albums under SB Projects — Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over (2021) and Holy Fvck (2022) — and have an album, REVAMPED, coming out next month that is rock rerecordings of earlier hits in their career.

The split was described as “mutual and amicable” to Variety.

One day after news of Lovato breaking ties with Braun emerged, Grande’s name entered the conversation. Grande had been with Braun since 2013, but hasn’t released a new album since Positions in 2020 as she’s been working as the lead in the film adaptation of Wicked.

Justin Bieber (Rumored)

Scooter Braun discovered the Canadian pop megastar via YouTube as a youngster, shepherding him throughout his career. Rumors of their professional split surfaced following a report from Puck News’ Matthew Belloni on August 18 alleged that the duo hasn’t “spoken in months.”

Although neither Braun nor Bieber have addressed the claims publicly, both parties have denied the rumors.

The Broadway star and Frozen voice actor is also separating from Braun after joining SB Projects in 2019. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed August 22 that the three-time Tony Award winner is no longer represented by Braun.
