Borussia Dortmund head coach Marco Rose has confirmed star striker Erling Haaland will miss the Europa League playoff clash with Rangers on Thursday.
The 21-year-old has missed Dortmund's last two games due to a muscle issue and appeared doubtful for the showdown with the Premiership champions.
The Norwegian has scored 23 goals in 20 appearances so far this season for BVB, bur won't be adding to his tally against Gio van Bronchorst 's men.
"He's not an option," revealed Rose during a pre-match press conference.
Haaland's absence adds more intrigue into what should be an exciting tie at the Signal Iduna Park.
But there was some positive news for the Bundesliga side going into the first leg.
The game also comes too soon for Marius Wolf while Emre Can is suspended, but Giovanni Reyna should be back in the squad.
Rose added: "Not much has changed, Gio Reyna will probably be back, Emre is still suspended from the last UCL game."
