Some Emmerdale stars have spoken of fearing for their futures after a raft of exits in recent times.
This year, we’ve said goodbye to Emmerdale favourites including Priya Sharma, played by Fiona Wade, and Marcus Dean, played by Darcy Grey, while we’ll soon see character Naomi Walters, played by Karene Peters, leave the village.
Emmerdale stars tend to work year-to-year contracts. So, the soap’s acting stars are often wondering what might be coming around the corner. Natalie Ann Jamieson, known as Amy Wyatt to millions, has spoken on the matter.

“We’ve had lots of leaving parties lately,’ Natalie said, as we previously reported. “It’s strange and sad, but it’s the nature of soaps. There’s always a turnaround. Any minute could be your last so you just enjoy every moment.
“You hear there’s a serial killer and you automatically think ‘we’re all going to die, it’s definitely going to be me’. In your head, you’ve already written it ‘of course it’s going to be me because I did this’."
Daisy Campbell, who has Amelia Spencer in Emmerdale since 2011, has spoken recently about how the Emmerdale cast are always prepared for any twist and turn. Daisy said: “I’d love to stay on it for as long as I can. I recently signed for another year and couldn’t be happier.
“But I never take it for granted because you never know when they might kill you off. It can happen to anyone.”
And, even despite being a fan favourite for over 25 years soap legend Dominic Brunt has fears about when his time playing Paddy Dingle, 53, might be come to an end. “If I was to go tomorrow though, I wouldn’t complain because I’ve had 25 amazing years – but long may it continue,” Dominic said.
“I absolutely love that job to pieces. I can’t explain to you what it means to me.”
