Former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has opened up on the heart-breaking moment he tried save his dad's life.
Dougie Thomas, who was also father to Ryan and Scott Thomas, tragically passed away in November 2020, he was lead singer of 1970s band Dougie James and the Soul train.
In a new episode of the podcast he shares with his brothers, Manc On The Mic, the former Adam Barton actor broke down as he recalled the last time he saw his father.
The 33-year-old spoke of his regret that the last time he saw his father he was frantically trying to save him whilst "jumping up and down" on his body in a bid to resuscitate him.
A tearful Adam told his brothers: "I remember getting out of the car and running upstairs in Scott's house, and just seeing him there laying on the sofa.
"I just thought, 'I've got to try and help him so I'm taking him off the couch and I'm trying to resuscitate him, I don't know whether I'm doing it right or whether I'm doing it wrong."
Adam continued: "I remember just thinking, "Wow, this is just not how I expected it to go. "I'm crying my eyes out going, 'Come on, dad', I'm jumping up and down on my dad, trying to save him."
Brother Scott Thomas reassured an emotional Adam as he tried to fight back the tears to finish his recollection of accounts, Scott said: "You've got this, bro."
The Waterloo Road star shared how he was the first one to reach his father after being alerted by Scott's cleaner.

Adam added: "It's just so hard, because you don't really talk about it that much and that's the one thing that I regret, that that's the last memory of my dad.
The dad of two recalled that his dad's phone started to ring while he was trying to resuscitate him, speaking about the ringtone, Adam sad: "It's my dad singing Kung Foo Fighting, and I'm just like, 'What is going on?'"
"I'm thinking, 'My dad's in the room right now just watching me trying to save his life, laughing is a*** off.'" he added.
At the time of his dad's death, Adam shared the sad news with his one million Instagram followers, alongside a black and white snap of Dougie, he captioned the post: "My sunshine on a cloudy day.
"Thank you to all my friends, family and all of you guys for all the lovely messages over the past week or so I needed it so thank you."
"My dad, ladies and gentlemen. Mr Dougie James. RIP."
