Viewers have been loving BBC's new drama The Responder, starring Martin Freeman as urgent response officer Chris Carson.
The tense series has proven a hit with fans, following a number of twists and turns, and dark scenes.
But soap fans tuning into the series were left thrilled when they recognised the actor playing henchman Barry, who works for drug dealer Carl.
Emmerdale fans quickly realised the actor playing Barry was none other than Mark Womack, who played an evil character on the ITV soap recently.
DI Mark Malone was a villain on t he show, and he featured in major scenes last year before being killed off in a twist.
He held Dawn Taylor against her will and tried to kill her with heroin as revenge against her dad Will Taylor, leading to a deadly showdown.
When former flame Harriet Finch hit him over the head, he tried to kill her too only for Dawn to shoot him multiple times, killing him.
Harriet, Will and Dawn covered up the crime before burying the body in a graveyard, before moving the corpse to the Home Farm estate.
It seems the dark secret will remain just that after Will's new lover Kim Tate recently had the body moved again, amid Dawn sharing her regrets over being a killer.
But seeing actor Mark return to screens following his previous character's demise, many viewers were forced to double take as others were happy to see him in the BBC series.
Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: "I've only clocked on just now that this show features the corrupt copper Malone who was in Emmerdale. I swear I knew him from somewhere."
Another pointed out: "Di Malone in #TheResponder #Emmerdale," as a third asked: "Hang on isn’t that malone from emmerdale?"
A fourth viewer commented: "Bloody hell, I had a feeling Malone off #Emmerdale would turn up."
The Responder is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
