Eminem's adopted child has opened up about finding out their biological father existed through a news article.
The rapper is dad to his eldest child Hailie as well as having two adopted children, Alaina (Lainey) and his youngest child, Stevie, from his previous relationship with Kim Scott.
Lainey's biological mother is Dawn Scott, the late sister of Eminem's ex-wife Kim.
The pair adopted Lainey in the 1990s whereas, 20-year-old Stevie is Kim's biological child and was born when Kim and Eminem weren't together.
Stevie's biological father is Eric Hartter, but Eminem adopted them when he got back together with Kim in 2005.
The couple remarried in 2006 but divorced again by the end of the year.
Hartter passed away in August 2019 from a cocaine and fentanyl overdose in an abandoned house in Detroit, Michigan.
Stevie, who is non-binary, talked in 2021 about finding out they were adopted.
They shared a video where they lip-synced along to captions where they talked about what seems to be a real-life event where they were told they were adopted.
The captions said: "He's not your real dad. You're adopted."
Stevie then hinted that they approached their adopted father, but the rapper may have falsely claimed to be their biological father.
Stevie asked: "You're my real dad right? am I adopted?"
They explained that they were sent an article about their biological dad's death.
Stevie stays away from the spotlight in Michigan with their long-distance boyfriend, TikToker Declan Jace, cat Sully and pet dog.
After being born in April 2002, they were formally adopted by Eminem in 2005.
Back in 2021, 20-year-old Stevie, who was born Whitney, posted on their TikTok channel that they were gender fluid and would from now on alternate pronouns between he, she and they.
They shared a clip talking about their gender identity where they included old photos of themself when they went by Whitney.
Stevie spoke about "becoming more comfortable" with themselves as they posted the hashtag "gender fluid and bi" while explaining the pronouns they would be going by.
