Search for missing girl enters day five
Emergency personnel will again resume their search for a nine-year-old girl who disappeared from a property in the Blue Mountains days ago, as fears grow for her safety.
Charlise Mutten was last seen on Thursday afternoon but was not reported missing until Friday, with NSW Police still trying to get a sense of her last movements.
As the search enters day five, her mother Kallista Mutten was yesterday interviewed by police.
Police are now also investigating whether a car was seen leaving the house without its headlights on, early Friday morning.
The girl lives with her grandmother in Queensland and was on a family holiday in Mount Wilson.
Police are treating the disappearance as suspicious.
RAT order arrives in Sydney
A shipment of 1.2 million rapid antigen tests ordered by the NSW government has arrived in Sydney.
The kits arrived on a freight flight yesterday and the order is part of a larger procurement of 50 million RATs.
NSW Health said the government's order will be distributed to schools, essential government services and vulnerable communities.
Another 15 million rapid tests are expected to arrive within the next seven days.
Funding boost for regional arts tours
A New South Wales company that creates theatre for young people will get support from the Australia Council's Playing Australia $5.5 million grant.
Monkey Baa is among 16 artist groups from across Australia receiving assistance to take their performances to rural and remote towns.
Australia Council CEO, Adrian Collette AM, welcomed the investment as a way of allowing more people to access the arts.
"We're particularly pleased the latest round of investment will support a diverse range of performances aimed at engaging young people and those based in regional and remote communities," Mr Collette said.
This year, there is also a big focus on First Nations, with Archie Roach to tour regional parts of NSW and Queensland.
Search for missing swimmer
A search will resume this morning for a man who went missing while swimming in a river in Sydney's north west.
Emergency services were called to the Hawkesbury River at Laughtondale following reports of a missing swimmer just after 6pm.
Police said a 32-year-old man who was on a houseboat with family and friends, failed to resurface after going for a swim.
