Glasgow Airport has been branded "an embarrassment" after a lack of taxis and buses to the city centre say tourists "stranded in the cold for at least an hour".
Political advisor Blair McDougall took to Twitter to raise his concerns after arriving at the airport, saying that the lack of transport links for people using it left "such a terrible impression".
He vented his frustrations on Twitter this week, writing: "What an embarrassment Glasgow Airport is. I’ve been in 4 different countries airports in last two weeks. Seamless travel. Here: tourists standing in the cold for at least an hour.
"No taxis. No buses. And, of course, no rail. Such a terrible impression."
Glasgow Airport apologised to McDougall on Twitter for the disruption, saying that taxis were "an issue" on the night coupled with the fact that the last express bus service to the city centre currently stops at 11pm at present.

They tweeted: "Hi Blair, we are sorry for the wait you had tonight. Unfortunately the buses stop at 23;00 but first bus are reassessing this as passenger numbers grow. Taxi's tonight was an issue and we can only apologies for this. Rgds".
We reported earlier this month that it is actually easier for Glaswegians to get home from Edinburgh Airport than it is from Glasgow Airport due to the express bus timetable, given the fact that the Edinburgh Airport bus link runs all night long.
First Glasgow said the last service runs at 11 due to "a combination of driver shortages that are being experienced across the industry and the current flight schedule", but added that plans are in place for a slightly later finishing time in the near future.
