AN elderly woman has died after being hit by a car in Dundee.
Emergency services were called to East Dock Street at around 10.45am on Friday following a crash involving the pedestrian and a silver Mini Cooper.
The 77-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland said the driver of the Mini Cooper was not injured.
The road was closed following the crash before reopening at around 4.30pm.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the incident to come forward.
Constable Christopher McElwee said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
