Liverpool supporters' belief that Alisson Becker is the Premier League's best goalkeeper has been bolstered after an absolute howler from Edouard Mendy.
The Chelsea 'keeper was in between the sticks for his side's trip to Leeds United, for a match the Blues were expected to comfortably win. But Jesse Marsch's side had other ideas, putting in a superb performance to pull off a resounding 3-0 victory.
They were given more than a helping hand by Mendy in the 33rd minute when the Senegalese international tried to play out from the back, but after dallying with the ball at his feet for too long, he was dispossessed by Brenden Aaronson, who gleefully rolled the ball into an empty net.

With their noses in front and tails up, Leeds went onto to score twice more to record a famous Elland Road win, sending Chelsea and the hapless Mendy packing.
Reds on social media wasted no time highlighting the Chelsea 'keepers shortcomings while bigging up those of Alisson.
Writing on Twitter, @LFC_RedBlooded said: "Chelsea getting beat down. Reece, Mendy and Koulibaly just ain’t Trent, Alisson and VVD."
@ VenanceLFC added: "Mendy thought he was Alisson"
A couple of fans even brought a former Liverpool star into the equation. @LFCAidan_ wrote: "Mané carried Mendy to an AFCON medal and they called him the best GK in the world."
@LFC_Klopp_Salah added: "Mendy is so overrated lmao. Gets carried by 9 defenders in Tuchel’s system, and by Mane & the other outfield players internationally."
Comparisons between Mendy and Alisson we in high in the offering, with @LFCTM1 proclaiming: "People genuinely said that Mendy was better than Alisson Let your apology be as loud as your disrespect."
@LFCWunc took a slightly more pragmatic view, blaming Chelsea's full-back for the blunder goal, adding: "Trent would’ve offered an option for Mendy to pass to there. Poor from Reece James."
@Nofiu had a similar view, writing: "It's a team loss. Mendy can be cut some slack, playing from the back is a skill~set with very few keepers possessing that skill Mendy was left open with Thiago & other defenders FAR from him with Jorginho no where to be found! Time to take so lessons from @LFC @Arsenal, @ManCity keepers."
Mendy's gaff leaves Chelsea on four points after three matches and Liverpool move ahead of one of their likely title rivals should they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday evening. A clean sheet from Alisson would certainly help them along their way.
