Edinburgh Toby Carvery responds after diner slams worst service they've ever had

Staff at an Edinburgh restaurant were forced to respond to scathing criticism one of their diners left on TripAdvisor.

The furious customer left a one out of five star review following a visit to the the Toby Carvery eatery at Lauriston Farm and claimed it was the worst service they'd ever seen.

Meanwhile, after their first visit to the restaurant, they said they wouldn't be back after being served 'substandard' food and 'tasteless' vegetables.

Toby Carvery management replied to the customer saying they appreciate all the feedback they get, 'even the bad'.

The diner's review said: "To start off with the staff were rude. Incredibly poor customer service until it came to paying the bill.

"The food was substandard, the vegetables overcooked and tasteless.

"My first time being at this restaurant and it will be my last time.

"I have twenty years experience in hospitality and never seen such poor quality of customer service until this visit."

The General Manager for the Toby Carvery responded and said: "Thanks so much for the feedback. We appreciate all even the bad. As it allows us to improve on our short fallings.

"If you do decide to return and do experience any issues, please do make us aware when with us. This allows us to react and aim to resolve with you personally whilst you are with us."

Based on Lauriston Farm Road on the outskirts of the capital, the Toby Carvery chain scores an average rating of 3.5 stars out of 5 on the TripAdvisor website, with some customers praising their 'best value for money' breakfast meals.
