An Edinburgh man has been left devastated after a classic motorbike left to him by a beloved neighbour was stolen from outside of his parent's home.
Jack Chalmers, 23, says the rare 1984 Honda XBR500 has immense sentimental value as it was handed down to him from a close neighbour that recently passed away.
There are fewer than 100 1984 Honda XBR500 registered in the UK but it was taken from outside of his parent's house in the Gilmerton area.

He is desperate for the bike to be returned and says that it must have been stolen between 10pm on May 15 and 8am on May 16.
“The bike was more sentimental than anything and I was planning on refurbishing it to showroom standard," he said.
“I was quite close to my old neighbour, it's a quiet street. I'm gutted that it's gone, I had so much planned for it.
“The bike is a 1984 Honda XBR500, which is a quite rare bike these days, as there are less than 100 still registered.
“It was stolen from my parents house in the Gilmerton area. The bike was handed down after a close neighbour passed away.
“It was stolen at some point overnight. My dad realised it had been stolen when he was walking the dog and saw that the side gate was open.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of the theft of a motorbike from a premises on Moredun Park Way, Edinburgh, around 8.55am on Tuesday, 16 May, 2023.
“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
