An Edinburgh bed and breakfast has been named as one of the country's best in AA’s 2022 Bed and Breakfast Awards.
Kingsway Guest House in Edinburgh has been singled out for praise by the guide with particular attention given to the Scottish breakfast that featured a daily changing special dish. The announcement came as AA released their picks for top B&B in Britain, with no less than three Scottish entrants named in their shortlist for friendliest B&B.
The popular bed and breakfast is found in East Mayfield, in the South East of the city and has been a running bed and breakfast in the capital for more than 80 years. The classic Victorian villa was praised by AA for the warm hospitality and comfortable bedrooms.

It also features a charging station for electric cars for guests who need to charge their car overnight.
The review called out, in particular, the excellent Scottish breakfasts on offer. The Kingsway Guest House offers full cooked breakfast that features haggis, sausages from award winning local butchers, homemade potato scones and free range eggs.
However, they also offer daily breakfast specials including Loch Fyne smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough, a three egg omelette with wilted spinach and goats cheese or an asparagus, Parma ham and parmesan poached eggs with hollandaise.
These breakfasts have even received multiple AA breakfast awards ahead of their recent shortlisting for friendliest B&B.
AA described the Guest House as: “Well situated for the city centre and with off-road parking boasting an EV charging station.
“This well-presented Victorian building retains a number of original features with genuine and warm hospitality assured. All the bedrooms are comfortable with thoughtful extras for the modern guest.
“The quality Scottish breakfasts with an ever changing daily special dish make for an excellent start to the day.”
