Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has told his players they must give their very best in their final outing of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign against Burnley. The Magpies revival has been one of the stories of the Premier League this season, with Newcastle sitting rock bottom of the table in November 2021.
However, Howe's arrival coupled with strong spending in January sparked a rejuvenation, with Newcastle now heading into their final game with the chance to finish in the top 10. Leeds United need Newcastle to do them a favour heading into match day 38. Should Leeds beat or draw against Brentford, they will be safe if Newcastle beat Burnley. In essence, Leeds must better Burnley's result if they want to stay up.
And ahead of their last game of the season away against Burnley, Howe has reaffirmed to his players what he expects of them, which should boost the hopes of Leeds fans.

"We'd much rather it was this way," Howe told ChronicleLive.
"I'll be saying this to the players, we must be absolutely committed to the game and give our very best.
"We want to give our very best performance. I have to say I don't feel we have dropped our levels recently. I just think we came up against two teams, and I was still quite critical of performances, (in Man City and Liverpool) that are on a totally different level to us at the moment. I am very keen to see how we do."
