HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate has filed a prosecution complaint against a postal department official for misappropriation of MGNREGA funds.
The ED filed the complaint against Talla Narayana Rao, postmaster at Sativada in Srikakulam district, before the PMLA special judge, Visakhapatnam, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The ED initiated a money laundering investigation based on an FIR registered by the Anti Corruption Bureau, Visakhapatnam, against Narayana Rao under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC.
Investigations by the ED have revealed that the accused swindled 1.53 crore between 2013 and 2015 while working as branch postmaster.
