EastEnders' Stacey Slater faces a battle to save her mother Jean on the BBC soap on Thursday night, as events take a worrying turn.
Jean, who suffers from bipolar disorder, is in the middle of a mental health crisis and Stacey has urged others to realise this for weeks.
Stacey has tried to help her mum and tried to get her the help she needs, but Jean believes she's fine despite acting out of character.
In the next episode things take a dark turn, as Jean flees Walford in her wedding dress - despite her rushed wedding to Harvey Monroe not actually going ahead.
Stacey is alarmed to find out she's fled in her frock, with Jean heading for Southend - and her ex Martin Fowler soon assists her in trying to track Jean down.
Events lead the trio to the seaside town in Essex, and soon it's a fight to save Jean as she ends up in the water.
Stacey panics and races towards the sea as she spots her mum walking towards the waves, with no sign of stopping.
As she carefully tries to encourage her away from the water, she begs her mum to listen to her.
After weeks of her ignoring what is going on, and refusing to believe there's anything wrong with her, Jean finally starts to realise she is unwell.
As she remains in the water and Stacey tries to get to her, there's panic that Jean won't be reached.
But luckily, despite Jean initially resisting her help, Stacey does manage to reach her mother in time and rescues her from danger.
It seems Jean will finally get the help she needs to help her recover, leaving Stacey relieved.
