EastEnders' Rose Ayling-Ellis makes emotional post as her exit from soap leaves fans gutted

Rose Ayling-Ellis has spoken out about her EastEnders exit, as news of her departure left fans gutted.

Rose, who won Strictly Come Dancing alongside Giovanni Pernice in 2021, has been playing Frankie Lewis in the BBC soap 2020, but it has now been confirmed that she will soon be bidding goodbye to Albert Square.

Rose's character Frankie arrived in EastEnders in rather controversial circumstances, as the daughter of Mick Carter; the child he had after being groomed and then forced into sex as a youngster. After initially being left in shock by appearing in the Square, Mick welcomed Frankie into the family, with Rose being left upset by the exit of her on-screen sister Maddy Hill just a few months ago.

And now Rose has posted about her own exit, taking to Instagram to post a series of photos of highlights from her time on EastEnders, including her posing with co-stars like Danny Dyer, Kellie Bright and Charlie Brooks, meeting the Duchess of Cornwall on set and pulling a pint behind the bar at the Queen Vic.

Next to the, the 27-year-old wrote: "It’s been incredibly special to be @bbceastenders first regular deaf actor. I have loved my time on the show and Frankie has been such an awesome character to play, however now feels like the right time for me to move on and I am excited and ready for new challenges."

She added: "I will always treasure my time on the show and all the incredible people I have worked with, who have supported my growth as an actor these last two years and given me so many amazing memories."

Rose's post quickly gathered plenty of comments, some from her Strictly co-stars, including runner-up John Whaite, who reacted: "Now the world better watch out because here she comes."
