EastEnders fans can look forward to something a bit different from the BBC One soap next week as soap bosses have confirmed a major schedule shake-up for a special flash-forward episode on Monday.
The highly anticipated episode of the award-winning soap will see six favourite characters navigate their way as their world is turned completely upside down.
The dramatic trailer, which was released earlier this month, spurred immense excitement in fans as they were treated to a glimpse of what lies ahead for Linda Carter, Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Denise Fox and Sharon Watts.
Although EastEnders fans are usually able to watch the soap on iPlayer before it airs on screens, they will have to wait and watch the drama unfold on Monday at 7.30pm for the special episode.
It comes as BBC viewers are predicting that a major storyline is set to hit Walford, as the soap teases fans with a cryptic post that’s anticipating ‘everything changes.’
The chilling teaser trailer sees Stacey Slater and Denise Fox both looking scared as they both stare into the distance, while Linda, who is played by Kellie Bright, looks deeply stressed behind the bar.
Linda can then be heard saying: "There is a moment just before you do something…"
Meanwhile, Kathy, Suki, Denise, and Sharon, all seem frightened about what is about to unfold in front of their eyes.
Elsewhere, a woman on the street can be heard saying: "When time freezes and you think is this really happening, am I really going to do this, suddenly it's done and your whole world shatters."
Following the release of the trailer, many EastEnders viewers are predicting that something exciting will happen, with one BBC fan even suggesting that someone from the soap is going to get ‘hit by lightning.’
"I know it's a flash-forward episode but I feel like someone will be struck by lightning," they tweeted.
"All the flashes. I feel like some serious stuff is about to happen. Are they going to be hit by lightning," someone else echoed.
"OMG! Soooooo excited for this episode," another chirped.
EastEnders airs on BBC One at 7.30pm on Monday.
