Millions of families and individuals across the UK will see their State Pension and benefit payments increase from this week. The uprating of 10.1 percent will impact more than 39 million people, but most will not see the change until May.
That is because payments are made in arrears, but others will see a mixed rate payment, Daily Record reports. The uplift announced by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will be worth around £600 this year to a family on Universal Credit, on average. The benefit cap will also rise in line with inflation.
