A popular Duke Street Market venue is launching a standalone restaurant and takeaway on Liverpool's thriving Smithdown Road.
Big Lola's Taqueria specialises in Mexican dishes, inspired by the Mission District of San Francisco. The popular menu offers slow cooked beef brisket burritos, grilled chicken tacos, confit mushroom rice bowls, chocolate caramel churros and more.
Big Lola's has experienced great success at city centre food haunt Duke Street Market, where its permanent menu is accompanied by trials of special dishes. Now, the popular Mexican restaurant is branching out with a permanent spot of its own.

Joe Earnshaw, co-founder of Big Lola's Taqueria, told the Echo : "We can't wait to open Big Lola's and bring our tacos and burritos to Smithdown Road. We've got the last few details to finalise but we should hopefully be open around early August - stay tuned for a more accurate date. Whether you're looking for a click and collect takeaway, Uber Eats delivery or popping down and eating in our brand new taco shop, we'll have you covered."
Duke Street Market is home to six independent kitchens; Cucina Di Vincenzo which specialises in Italian food, Asian-inspired Ginger, seafood kitchen Kelp, red meat specialist Bone & Block, and Cuban kiosk Cahita as well as Big Lola's, both run by the same team.
