Aberdeen striker Luis 'Duk' Lopes is facing disciplinary action at Aberdeen after failing to return to Pittodrie for pre-season.
The Cape Verde forward did not join his team-mates for training ahead of the new season after missing the warm weather training camp through a medical issue.
It has now been confirmed Duk - who is keen on a transfer exit - will not be involved for the Premier Sports Cup group stage match against Queen of the South amid the disciplinary issue.
A club spokesperson told the Daily Record: "It is now an internal disciplinary matter. The club are disappointed that it has come to this."
Manager Jimmy Thelin cited "internal issues" with Duk when asked about the situation surrounding the striker.
He said: "Duk is not going to be inside the squad. Right now we have some internal issues with the Duk situation. That is all I can say about that.
"Right now that is all I can say about that situation."

It comes after Aberdeen were dealt a major injury blow with Dante Polvara sidelined for up to 16 weeks.
The midfielder suffered a hamstring tear in training and will meet a consultant to discuss the injury problem in the coming days.
Thelin commented: “We’re clearly all very disappointed for Dante, particularly as he had made such a positive impression during pre-season.
“He’s an important player for us to lose at such an early stage in our season but he will have the full support of everyone at the Club and I’m sure he will come back stronger from this setback.”
