Dublin pubs are revolting against Heineken after the beer company announced price increases across their products.
Pubs say they will have to increase the price of pints of Coors, Orchard Thieves, Heineken and Moretti by 40c to compensate for the price increases. Two pubs have already said they are taking out Heineken taps as they can't ask their customers to pay more.
Heineken said the increases were down to “exceptional inflationary challenges”. They said: “Due to significant increases in the cost of energy, packaging, and raw materials, Heineken Ireland has been left with no choice but to amend its pricing in the Irish on-trade market."

The news did not go down well with some of the city's favourite boozers. Many of which urged drinkers of Heineken products to try others.
Kavanagh's Pub on New Street wrote on Facebook: "Dear Heineken drinkers, Please get used to drinking a different larger, with the new increases announced from Heineken this morning we would need to increase the pint by about 35c to our already hard pressed customers.
"When do we collectively take a stand against this madness? All pubs should remove at least one of Heinekens product lines from our businesses, that should make them sit up and take notice."
They added: "I’ve already told our rep we are taking out 2 products."
Peadar Browns on Clanbrassil Street wrote on Twitter: "Heineken Ireland have increased the prices dramatically on all of their products this morning, coors, moretti, orchard thieves etc. We'd be looking to put another 30/40cent on all their draught we serve here to make up the difference."
Darkey Kelly's of Christchurch wrote: "Very disappointing news from Heineken Ireland ] this morning - I can’t ask my customers to pay over the odds for a pint - if you are a Heineken drinker we have plenty of other options here to drink - there will be a couple of less taps on the counter here this week."
