A missing person appeal launched in 2019 for Dublin man Gerard Taylor has been stood down after his remains were found in Rathfarnham last month.
Mr Taylor went missing from his Sandyford home on 25th May 2019. He was 55-years-old at the time of his disappearance.
His skeletal remains were discovered in Rathfarnham on February 21 and a positive DNA identification was made this week. A garda spokesman confirmed today that the missing person appeal had been stood down.

He said: "Following the discovery of skeletal remains in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin on 21st February 2023, a positive identification was made this week. The missing person appeal in respect of Gerard Taylor, who had been missing from the Sandyford area of Dublin since 25th May 2019, has now been stood down.
"We would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter."
