A man charged with recklessly crashing his car into a motorbike rider in Adelaide's south has been released on bail.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of O'Sullivan Beach Road and Brodie Road at Lonsdale around 1pm on Monday after reports a Mazda sedan had collided with a motorbike.
The rider of the motorbike, a 20-year-old woman from Salisbury, was taken to Flinders Medical Centre where she was treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the Mazda, 40-year-old Matthew Hollitt, was arrested at the scene and taken to Flinders Medical Centre where he had a sample of his blood taken for analysis.
The Morphett Vale man has been charged with recklessly causing serious harm, causing harm by dangerous driving and driving without due care.
Mr Hollitt appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Tuesday via video link, and his application for bail was approved without opposition from the prosecution.
Under the conditions of his bail, Mr Hollitt is disqualified from driving.
Police said prior to the crash both vehicles travelled south on the Southern Expressway before exiting at Sherriffs Road, Lonsdale, and then headed south onto Brodie Road.
"Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-cam footage is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," police said.
The matter will return to court in April.
