Drew Barrymore sobbed after she discovered old photos of her Hollywood star Grandmother.
The 47-year-old said she had "tears streaming down her face" after she stumbled upon the vintage snaps.
Drew came across the photo on an Instagram page dedicated to "the magic of old Hollywood".
Her grandmother, Dolores Costello, who was born in 1903, rose to fame for her silent movies.
The 50 First Dates star wrote: "I don't know why I was scrolling because I need to go to bed and get up for work. I was feeling like I was looking for something. A sign?
"I don't know but I needed something!!! And I came across this!"
"You brought me my grandmother!!! I have tears streaming down my face as I write this!! Thank you. I needed this tonight!!!! Ps. Isn't she so neat?! Thank you."
The post describes Dolores as "The Goddess of the Silent Screen", a term that was coined by Drew's grandfather, John - who was also an actor.
Drew recently opened up about the struggle of co-parenting with her ex-husband Will Kopelman.
In an interview with Parents magazine, Drew said how she misses her daughters Olive, nine and Frankie, seven when she's away from them.
"You miss them when you're apart because that wasn't the plan," she told the publication's April issue.
But looking on the bright side of things she said: "Both parents get a day off".
She said that she's shown her children her films Ever After: A Cinderella Story and 50 First Dates.
But she said that she wouldn't show them Scream "until they're old enough".
In January Drew broke down when she was discussing the struggles of dating on CBS Mornings with Bobby Berk.
She split from Will in 2016 after nearly four years of marriage.
A source told People that "they had marriage issues for a while", with "tensions over where they lived.
Drew wanted to live in L.A and Will wanted to stay in New York City.
She admitted that they were "polar opposites" when it comes to their likes and dislikes, but added that she admired Will for "choosing to be a good person every day".
Speaking on CBS: "I never said outloud that I don't know how to date with kids,' she replied, then went on to compare her dating process to that of her ex.
"My kids' dad is happily remarried with the most wonderful woman in the world, Allie.
"My children have this extraordinary stepmom. And our processes have been different, and their side of the street is so functional, and whole, and happening. And I think I've been on the sidelines in a beautiful honoring purgatory," she said.
She said she would "never get married again" but would consider "living with someone again".
