Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher and Manchester United favourite Gary Neville served up another box office argument on The Overlap after clashing over the American owners at their former clubs.
Sitting down for a must-see episode on the SkyBet channel, discussions eventually turned to FSG - and the Glazer family - when Neville suggested there are certain similarities between the two with on-pitch success papering over the cracks. However, that prompted Carragher to fire back and fight his corner.
With both clubs subject to investment interest and in United's case formal bids, Carragher and Neville went on to discuss comparisons between the current owners. Here's every word from the heated exchange as Carragher (JC) and Neville (GN) got down to business;

GN: I'm not going to bring Liverpool into this, but I think Jurgen Klopp is shielding the owners there because I don't think they are too different from the Glazers. I've said that for a few years. [Jurgen] Klopp is shielding FSG in the same way the Glazers have been shielded by Sir Alex [Ferguson]. I think I'm right on that.
JC: So have FSG taken the money out of Liverpool? That's the biggest problem with Manchester United.
GN: Optically, it looks terrible taking money out of the club, but they only take out £20m per year in revenue which is, essentially, a football player like a full-back or something. It's optically terrible, but it's only £20m per year. If they were successful and they were, actually, people who invested in the stadium, the training ground and had a successful football operation, no one would be...
JC: Look at Liverpool's stadium. Look at Liverpool's training ground.
GN: Back when Manchester United were a PLC, they paid out dividends that were equal to what the Glazers have taken out, so it's not unusual for the owners of Manchester United to take money out, so the problem is you can't take money out and then not invest...
JC: Stop criticising them for it then [taking money]... Liverpool's owners have invested in the stadium, they've got one of the best training grounds.
GN: You've written an article [criticising FSG and investment].
JC: I haven't. You took one line out of it. You didn't even read the article. Our producer probably sent it.
GN: You've written the article earlier in the season, after saying there's no problem with FSG at Liverpool as they are not able to invest at the levels that are needed to make Liverpool as successful as you would like to be... [Jude] Bellingham has now gone off the table with finances. It was the theme of your article.
JC: It was also being critical towards [Jurgen] Klopp. Don't talk like you know what's going on at Liverpool.
