Dolly Parton died without children and 17 months after the death of her husband, Carl Dean, leaving behind a music and business empire whose ultimate beneficiaries have not been publicly identified.
Parton, 80, died Tuesday in Nashville, her family said. Her publicist said she died peacefully but did not disclose a cause of death. Dean, her husband of nearly 60 years, died in March 2025. The couple never had children. Reuters reported that Parton's family confirmed her death in a statement.
