Dolly Parton died on 25 August at the age of 80, but the country legend left behind a final secret. Locked inside a chestnut box at her Tennessee resort sits an unreleased song no one can hear until 2046.

Parton's family confirmed her death in a statement, saying she 'died peacefully' in Nashville. Her publicist, Marcel Pariseau, later said she had faced a brief battle with cancer. Her nephew and longtime head of security, Bryan Seaver, announced the news in a video posted to her Instagram account.
