DOI's Michelle Heaton takes a tumble in four hour session ahead of skating debut

Patsy Palmer and Michelle Heaton have been pictured training for their Dancing on Ice debuts.

Patsy wore a crash helmet and looked nervy during her first training session.

The actress, 50, famed for yelling “Rickayyy” on EastEnders, gave it a go at a rink in Los Angeles.

While singer Michelle, 43, took a tumble on the ice in London as she trained for the ITV show, but seemed to laugh off her fall, and was smiling as she got up.

The former Liberty X singer was also pictured making her way around the rink with a trainer during the four hour session, as she wore blue leggings, a dark jumper and bobble hat.

Patsy and Michelle will be joined in Dancing on Ice by The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran, football legend John Fashanu, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, Coronation Street ’s Mollie Gallagher, drag queen and TV personality The Vivienne, TV personality Joey Essex, comedian and Love Island Aftersun host Darren Harriott and Carley Stenson.

Patsy, who lives in America, was the first celebrity to be revealed as part of the 2023 line-up, during an episode of This Morning.

Quizzed by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on why she wanted to take part, the DJ said: “Well I didn’t obviously call them up and say ‘can I take part?’ Just out of all the things that came through at that time, this was the one that I had to really think about.

“Obviously I wanted to challenge myself, get back to work, get out of my comfort zone.

“I just thought, I’ll just go for it. It seems a lot of fun, I do like ice skating but I'm not an ice skater or figure skater."

Phillip then dropped a bombshell and revealed that Patsy has been asked to do the show before but turned the opportunity down.

“Yes I know,“ Patsy explained, “because I've been absolutely terrified before but I feel like my pact that I made with myself when I was 50, which I was this year, was that I had to do things to challenge myself for the next couple of years and get out of my comfort zone because I don't want to get stuck in this thing of like 'Ah! I'm 50!'“

Michelle spoke on Lorraine about her decision to take to the rink, after 18 months sober, saying she feels healthier than ever.

She told the television host: “I’m so excited – I can’t believe it. Me and the kids are such huge fans of the show in general. I’ve always wanted to do it but I know I would never have been able to complete anything because of the way I was 18 months ago, so I’m really truly grateful that I’ve got it this year when I’m a lot stronger.”

Michelle has been incredibly honest about her battle with her drink and drug demons, often sharing photos of herself prior to going sober to show the brutal reality of her situation.
