Djed Spence has sent an emotional message to Nottingham Forest after finally sealing his protracted transfer to Tottenham. Starting the 2021/22 campaign at Middlesbrough, the 21-year-old moved on loan to Forest on deadline day last summer and was a huge success at the City Ground.
Having a major impact on the team from his right wing-back berth with his marauding runs down the flank, Spence finished the season with three goals and five assists for Steve Cooper's men. His season-long loan spell at Forest did come to an end at Wembley, helping them win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs after a 23-year absence from the top flight.
Coming to the attention of a number of clubs following his exploits for Nottingham Forest, Spence sent a special message to all connected with the club shortly before his Tottenham transfer was officially announced on Tuesday morning.

"Nottingham Forest. What a massive club, what a team and what special fans," he wrote on Instagram. "We came from the bottom and made it all the way to the top. We turned dreams into reality and I can't thank you all enough for the special journey we all shared together.
"I'm looking forward to seeing you all back at the famous City Ground. Once a Red, always a Red."
Spence won't have long to wait before returning to the City Ground, with Spurs travelling to Forest on Sunday, August 28. Prior to then, however, the new signing will be looking to make an impact in a Tottenham shirt with Southampton, Chelsea and Wolves all on the agenda.
On his move to Tottenham, he told Spurs TV: "To be in the Premier League and a big club like Tottenham is a dream come true. I'm just thankful that I've got here and going to get the opportunity to play for the club.
"Everyone wants to play in the Premier League. As a kid you watch it, that was a target of mine. Big club, Champions League football and obviously you have some of the best players that play here. It's a privilege to be here."
