Helen Skelton was sad to announce a death on a Yorkshire farm tonight moments after a 'distressing warning' to viewers because of it.
The star helmed the third episode of the latest series of Springtime on the Farm live from Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, at 8pm on Channel 5 on Thursday.
At the start of the episode, viewers were warned: "This programme contains scenes of life and death some viewers may find distressing”.

And moments later, viewers found out exactly what it was that could distress them.
Helen Skelton was given the unenviable task of announcing the sad news that Phillipa, a goat who had featured on the popular Channel 5 programme just the day before, had sadly died overnight.
Philliipa died just after giving birth to two kids, which had to be delivered by emergency caesarean.
Unfortunately, this was too much for Phillipa.
Helen told viewers that the death had affected the mood of everyone at the farm.
“Our mood is testament to the fact that Phillipa was a really well loved goat and one of the fans' characters. She leaves behind these two little kids. How tough is life going to be for these two?"
"It won't be easy Helen. It's going to be an uphill struggle, but it's one we've done before with success many many times so we're going to really try and just to say to lose Phillipa, who was a goat that won our hearts when she went to live with the llamas by choice, it's such a blow because she was a goat that we really loved so she will be missed."
Viewers had grown to love Phillipa and were sad about her death.

Moments later, viewers saw a lamb being born live which very nearly died. It had been born during the ad break and when viewers next saw it, it was lying on the floor and not breathing.
"I'm going to go in and bring the next lamb", said host Adam as he stuck his hand up the ewe and pulled the next lamb out, live on air.
Finally, he pulled the third lamb out and shook it to clear its airways.
"Sometimes when they thrash like that, it's because they're suffocating, struggling to breathe."
Fortunately, the three lambs made it so viewers didn't see a tragic complication this time.
