Disruption warnings issued after person hit by train in Glasgow

A PERSON has been hit by a train between two Scottish stations.

ScotRail previously said 999 crews were dealing with an incident near Hyndland station in the west end of Glasgow shortly after 12.45pm on Friday, July 26.

Now, National Rail has said a person has been struck by a train between Partick and Anniesland/Jordanhill.

Emergency crews are in attendance at the incident.

The rail firm has said whilst emergency teams respond and carry out their work, all lines in the area will be closed.

Meanwhile, Network Rail has confirmed the line has been shut between Hyndland and Partick due to the incident.

A spokesperson for National Rail said: "A person has been hit by a train between Partick and Anniesland/Jordanhill. Whilst the emergency services respond and carry out their work all lines will be closed.

"Trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

"Disruption is expected until 4pm.

"If you've been affected by what happened on the network today, there is always someone to talk to. You can contact the Samaritans on 116 123 from any phone for a confidential chat."

A spokesperson for ScotRail added: "Due to emergency services dealing with an incident near Hyndland, services here will be subject to delay and alteration at this time."

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "The line is currently closed between Hyndland and Partick.

"We are on-site to assist emergency services responding to an incident and will share further updates as soon as possible."

The British Transport Police has been contacted for comment.
