Many ITV This Morning viewers were left disgusted after a man with the world's longest tongue appeared on Monday's (Feb 20) show. Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield introduced their guest and sat squirming as the tongue was displayed.
Nick Stoeberl, a 33-year-old artist from California, has a tongue 3.97in long (10.1cm). He holds the Guinness World Record for the longest tongue on the planet – and he says it’s very useful.
He said one of the benefits of his long tongue is how "easy it is to make friends". As reported by Birmingham Live, Nick added: "People always want to talk to me, people always introduce other people to me as the guy with the longest tongue. Socially, it's quite useful".

Holly said: "You can obviously lick your nose, you can lick your elbow?" Nick replied: "Yeah any food on the elbow, it's gone". The orthodontic department of the University of Edinburgh's dental school discovered that the mean average tongue length for adults is 3.1in (7.9cm) for women, and 3.3in (8.5cm) for men.
Oddly, Nick's younger brother, Chad, also has a very long tongue. Amongst his many talents, Nick can use his tongue to type emails, paint portraits, and reach incredibly difficult places. He can also paint with it, which he did in the This Morning studio.
On Twitter, Sara wrote: "My son can lick his nose and his elbow. His tongue isn’t anywhere near as long as that bloke’s though." Big Fisherman said: "Tbh I would’ve expected the longest tongue in the world to be longer than his" [sic]. Sharon said: "I wonder if there's someone out there with a bigger tongue who has just kept it to themselves."
Miss Arsenal said: "This man is making me feel sick. Put your tongue away . #ThisMorning". Official G said: "Does anyone really care about someone's tongue ? #ThisMorning"
Guinness World Records itself promoted the interview on Monday, taking to Twitter to write: "Join Nick, the man with the longest tongue, on the sofa with Phillip and Holly on @thismorning very shortly!"
