Dimple Yadav slams UP govt over law and order situation

Mainpuri: Samajwadi Party (SP) Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav on Sunday hit out at the Uttar Pradesh goverment over the law and order situation and also condemned the custodial death of a man in Lucknow.  

Dimple Yadav reached Mainpuri on the second consecutive day to campaign for Samajwadi Party's candidate Tej Pratap Singh Yadav. 

'Custodial deaths a serious matter'
Talking to reporters, she said:  "The law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has completely collapsed. Deaths are occurring in police custody, which is really a serious matter."

Earlier in the day, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav also condemned the custodial death of a man in Lucknow and slammed the Uttar Pradesh government, saying the government should now rename 'police custody' to 'torture house'.

In a social media post, Akhilesh Yadav said: "In the capital of Uttar Pradesh, two instances of custodial deaths (Should be read as murder ) have been reported in the past 16 days."

"Uttar Pradesh by-polls results would be similiar to what we saw in Lok Sabha elections. The people will teach the government a lesson," Dimple Yadav further said.    

She added that party leaders and workers are campaigning, and the Karhal assembly constituency result will be historic.

By-elections for nine assembly seats, including Karhal, in Uttar Pradesh will be held on November 13. The outcome of the polls will be announced on November.
