‘Devil Baby’ influencer who stalked Chelsea star Mason Mount says she was ‘lonely’

The online model and influencer sentenced for stalking England football star Mason Mount and two other players has said she was “lonely”.

Orla Sloan, 22, who called herself Devil Baby on Instagram, used 21 phone numbers to stalk the Chelsea midfielder for four months after the pair slept together at a party in November 2020.

She also stalked his former teammate Billy Gilmour and harassed fellow Blues star Ben Chilwell after meeting the trio at the party at Mr Chilwell’s home.

Sloan pleaded guilty last month and was sentenced on Tuesday.

Speaking to the Daily Mail in an interview published on Sunday, Sloan said she thought she had a “connection” with Mr Mount.

“At the time, I did hope we would have a relationship again, but looking back, I think I was quite naive,” she told the Mail.

She said that she felt lonely living in London, and that being an OnlyFans model made her “more lonely”.

Sloan said she felt sad about “putting herself out there” on OnlyFans and not having any real “connection” back.

She added: “What I did was wrong and I regret sending all the messages and hurting those people and their families because no one deserves that.”

She admitted that “it’s so easy” to create a fake social media account. She created an Instagram account under the name Devil Baby and tagged Mr Mount in posts which included collages of photos of the player with other women.

Sloan now hopes her sentencing is a “lesson for young people” about how their actions online can have real world consequences, the Daily Mail reports.

Mr Mount, 24, became worried that Ms Sloan would turn up at the club’s training ground in Surrey, while her messages to Mr Gilmour, 22, left him unable to sleep.

Sloan was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months, with 30 days of rehabilitation sessions and 200 hours of community service.

She must also pay Gilmour £500, Mount and Chilwell £300 each plus £85 costs and a £154 victim surcharge.

She was also banned from contacting the players for five years.

The court heard on Tuesday how Sloan met the Chelsea stars after she had set up an OnlyFans account, as part of her bid to become a social media influencer.

She met the players, all then playing for Chelsea, at a house party thrown by Chilwell in November 2020 and ended up sleeping with Mr Mount.

“There was communication between them for around six months and Mr Mount decided that the relationship wasn’t going to progress any more”, prosecutor Jason Seetal told an earlier hearing.

“He decided to end contact with Ms Sloan.”

Michael Cogan, a barrister representing Sloan, said the offending began when she believed she was going to be in a relationship with Mount but he cut her off.

“Unfortunately Ms Sloan thought there was rather more to it than that”, he said. “She is not only young but also incredibly naive.”

He said Sloan had been “isolated” in the Covid lockdowns, then moved to London in her first experience of city life.

“She is extremely sorry she took matters to the level she did”, he said. “She publicly apologises to each and every one of the complainants in this case.”

Mr Cogan said Sloan is “addicted to social media”, telling the court she was “sucked into a world of instant gratification achieved only by being seen with other more successful people.
